Gordon Ramsay and David Beckham to open pub together

The ubiquitous Gordon Ramsay has been in the news again this week.  This time it’s rumoured that he plans to open a British pub in Los Angeles as a joint venture with David Beckham.  Is it true or not?  Who knows what the Ramsay publicity machine will churn out to get attention.  However, Ramsay did confirm the rumour during an interview with George Lopez on the TV programme Lopez Tonight.

Highlights of the interview plus some of the fun and games that went on – including the now infamous food fight – are available from the Lopez Tonight website [obsolete link removed].

I expected it to be a groan a minute but actually it’s quite fun to watch.  Enjoy!

  1. What an odd combination!

Sounds more like a PR stunt than any serious collaboration.

  2. Not Delia

Hi Paul, thanks for the comment.

An odd combination? I dunno. They have a lot in common. Both are very successful but not exactly intellectual giants. Did you ever see Ramsay chairing an episode of “Have I Got News For You”? He was so out of his depth it was cringe-worthy.

Also, both of them used to play football. 😉

  3. …although Gordon Ramsay never actually played for the Rangers first team, as he used to claim until he was caught out.

Has Becks ever claimed to have been a Michelin-starred chef, I wonder?
