Fried breaded Pacific dory fillet with fries and side saladI like fish and chips but it’s not always easy to make it fish and chip shop style depending on what kind of fish and what kind of potatoes you can get. Rather than attempt the chip shop version with what I had, I went down the fish and fries route. This was breaded Pacific dory served with fried potatoes.

Fish

  • 1 suitable fillet of white fish per person
  • Flour
  • Egg, beaten with a splash of milk added
  • Breadcrumbs

Pat the fish dry, dust with the flour, dip in the egg wash, and coat with breadcrumbs.
Pan fry until done. It’s usually best to start off with the presentation side down first.

Parboil some sliced potatoes.
Sauté the potatoes in butter along with a chopped onion.

Easy, huh?

I served mine with tartar sauce and a salad on the side.
