Here’s a basic recipe for crepes from my old cook’s notebook. It works every time and is very simple to do.
Ingredients
- 50g plain flour
- 1tbsp oil
- 2 eggs
- 150ml milk
- melted butter
Method
Put the flour in a bowl and add the oil and eggs. Add the milk a little at a time to make a smooth batter. Add the melted butter. Cook (both sides) in a greased pan.
If you need more specific help than that, please see my photo essay about making buckwheat pancakes. It’s exactly the same technique.
Sorry, I forgot to take photos of the basic crepes themselves, but I went on to fill them with banana and other things so you can see a picture of them there.
Meanwhile, here’s a VideoJug clip of how to make French crepes.
