Many Korean dishes come accompanied by several little side dishes. Please see my review of a Korean restaurant in Bangkok for examples of these dishes. My most favourite of all is the bean sprout namole (콩나물, kong na mul) so I decided to have a go at recreating it at home. Easy!
Ingredients
- 250 g bean sprouts, blanched
- 2 spring onions, chopped or sliced
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp sesame seeds, toasted
- salt to taste
Method
First blanch the bean sprouts. Place the bean sprouts in a pan of boiling salted water and boil for about a minute. Remove from the heat and let them sit for another couple of minutes.
Drain and rinse with cold water. Squeeze out any excess water.
Place in a bowl and combine with all the other ingredients.
Set aside for half an hour or so to let the flavours mingle.
Serve at room temperature as a side dish to accompany other Korean dishes.
